How to Stop Lag on Minecraft Moblie! (11 Ways, with pictures)

How to Fix/Stop Lag in Minecraft Moblie

Lag, our worst enemy- making you die to a baby zombie or even to a PvP opponent, is not cool! This is why I will show you 15 ways that you can Reduce, fix, and even stop Lag completely, in Minecraft Bedrock Edition mobile, also known as pocket edition.

This should work on both single-player and multiplayer worlds, servers and realms. Reducing lag will help boost your Frames Per Second (FPS) to create smoother and more enjoyable gameplay.

1. Change your video settings.

Changing a couple of things in the video settings can make a difference. How to find the Minecraft video settings on mobile: On the home menu, click on 'settings', then scroll down and click on 'video'.

One of the first things you’ll see is FOV. Lowering your FOV can help reduce lag, only do this if you feel comfortable with a low FOV.

Turn off camera shake, fancy bubbles, render clouds, smooth lighting and fancy graphics. The downside to this is that the game will not look aesthetically pleasing but it does help reduce lag significantly.

Also, lower your render distance, which helps prevent slow-loading chunks. This allows the game to load less at a time, which will not only stop lag but boost your FPS, which will make Minecraft run smoother on your phone!

2. Close unnecessary background applications.

The applications that you were previously using will be running in the background. Background applications will take up too much RAM, causing lag and crashes in Minecraft. To close these apps; swipe the screen, click on the 3 lines and remove the apps by swiping upwards on them.

3. Free up your storage and clear your cache.

Low storage can cause stuttering in Minecraft. If you have a lot of unnecessary files, videos or photos that you don't want anymore, you may want to delete those. If they are important, you can store them on a FlashDrive, SD Card or Cloud storage.

How to clear app cache on Android.

Go to the settings app, and scroll down until you see 'battery and device care' or 'storage'. (Here, you will see all the files that are taking up storage; you can click on the ones that you want to see). Scroll down to 'App Cache' and clear that. Don't worry; it wouldn't affect the apps. The cache is random storage used by apps, similar to R.A.M.

4. Update your game and software.

Always make sure you update your game, and not only that, allow or schedule your phone's software updates when notified. Keeping the software up-to-date is important.

5. Install a no-lag pack.

If you are still experiencing lag. There is one last thing you can do and that is installing a no lag pack. Installing a pack that reduces texture or removes particles can help a lot.

These 5 other tips are great for multiplayer; however, the tips above can also help for multiplayer, so try those too.

6. Turn off WI-FI on devices

If there are other devices connected to the wifi that are not in use, you can turn off the wifi on those.

How to turn off wifi on Android: Swipe down near the top of the phone screen and click on the wifi symbol.

7. Move closer to WI-FI

If you're still experiencing lag, try moving closer to the wifi in the house and see if that helps.

8. Wi-Fi router/ethernet

If none of ways work you may need a wifi router or ethernet. If there are a lot of persons using the wifi, that can cause the wifi to lag, causing your multiplayer game to lag as well.

9. Join a server near your region

If the server host is too far from your location, you may experience lag or game crashes. Try joining a different server or changing the server region in the game using the region selector If the server has that option.

The Hive is an example:

10. Turn off automatic updates and notifications.

In the Google Play Store, click on your profile, scroll down to 'settings', then 'Network Preferences' then 'Auto-update apps' and turn off automatic updates. Similarly to way 2, keep background apps closed to stop notifications from popping up while playing the game. Notifications can lag the game- I once died to a baby zombie-like that :(

11. Don't play while the device is charging.

Let your device charge! If there is a power surge or power breaker trip, that can cause lag while playing Minecraft. OR it can even crash the game.

Bonus Tip!

For the best gaming experience, I recommend a device with 4GB of RAM Or more. If you have less than that, that's ok. The tips in this article should help no matter how much RAM you have.

Hopefully, these methods will help you reduce, fix or stop lag completely in your Minecraft world, server or realm. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day!
